PANAJI: Teaching for the 2021-22 academic year for class XI State students has begun recently after class X results are stated late last month.
However, while the class has begun in online mode, students face a shortage of several textbooks.
The bookstore owner said there was a lack of class XI Hindi and English textbooks.
For other classes too, textbooks are in short supply such as biology, chemistry and Hindi for class XII.
“In the case of class IX, the shares of history textbooks have run out.
And for class X, Hindi textbooks are not available on the market now.
So far, we have several books from the previous year’s stock, which we have sold to students.
But now we have to turning students because there are no more textbooks in this subject, “said the bookstore owner based in Panaji.
Last year, there was a delay in printing and the supply of textbooks intended for public school students from the State Authority.
The owner of the bookstore stated that it was an annual affair, while state officials said that pandemics had had an impact.
Although the shortcomings were not acute like last year, and the crunch of textbooks was only faced with several textbooks, students photocopied this textbook to plug in the crisis.
Textbooks for class I to VIII are printed by Maharashtra-based agencies and given to students directly by the Government Goa under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.
