Goa: Only 25% of taxis are committed to the digital cost meter

PANAJI: Meter offers free digital costs seem to have done a little to lure taxi operators in Goa into adopting technology because the Directorate of Transportation has completed digital meter fitmen in just less than 2,000 vehicles.
This is contrary to a 20,000-odd taxi registered in Goa, around 16,000 of them operational.
The numbers distributed by the Directorate of Transportation revealed that the total number of taxi owners who were really fitting digital meters were 1,977 in October 9.
However, 3,162 bookings have also been made for devices.
Therefore countries can expect a little more than 5,000 vehicles to install devices, so far.
Go with numbers, only 25% of taxis in Goa which can be equipped with digital tariff meters.
“We will receive a call about what needs to be done after the time limit for conformity,” the transportation officer told toi.
Series-wise digital meter fitment starts from May 5 and so on.
The agency involved in the appropriate digital meter is Rosmerta Autotech Pvt Ltd and Securinex Inc.
with each company that has four centers of each where fit can be done.
At present, the fitment of vehicles registered in the 8th and 9 series are ongoing – the deadline in the last week of this month.
Even though there were 14,575 all taxis permits India, there were 2,593 all taxis permit Goa and 674 yellow and black taxis.
In addition, there are 2,450 taxi-based taxis in Goa.
