Goa: Open for application-based taxi services such as in other states, said Minister Mauvin Godinho

PANAJI: Minister of Transportation Mauvin Godinho said on Thursday that the state government was open to all application-based taxi services, including Ola and Uber.
His statement came after the taxi operator suggested that they would rather operate from AppBased aggregator services instead of using digital meters.
Godinho said that if the taxi operator wants a taxi aggregator then they should not oppose Ola and Uber refer to the new demand from the taxi operator in the state, he said, let the taxi operator stand.
“They are confused.
They don’t know what they want and they are perverted,” Godinho said.
The Minister of Transportation said that whatever decision that the state government had taken towards the court.
“I can’t change even if I want.
Let them go to court and notify the court that they will function from application-based services.
They have been going to court three times, let them go the fourth time,” he said.
The Minister of Transport added that he had told the taxi operator that the digital meter was also a type of digitization and that he had notified the National Informatics Center (NIC) to add application features to digital meters “when we had asked them to do it with the application-based service, Those (taxi operators) say they will never receive the application, “Godinho said.
Questioning why the taxi operator opposed Ola and Uber if they want an application-based aggregator service, Godinho said, “They (Ola and Uber) are also application-based services and if they come to the state, our people will only join them.
They will not bring taxis from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Bengaluru.
I have one thing to be suggested.
Let’s make it a free market, like other countries.
Let other application-based services come to the country.
“Asked whether it was possible to provide meters Digital taxis free instead of returning money later, said Godinho, “every dynamic situation.
