PANAJI: A day after being rejected by BJP tickets for Cumbharjua, the State Union Minister Shripad’s Son Siddhesh has decided to support the party’s choice to sit MLA’s wife Pandurang Madkaikar and old player Sarpanch Janita for the election election.
As soon as Siddhesh decided not to fight for the election as an independent candidate, BJP appointed him as a party secretary and asked him to work in the vasco electoral district.
On whether he supports Janita, said Siddesh, “the party has given me responsibility for the constituency of Vasco.
I will work in Vasco.
In connection with Cumbharjua, BJP has an official candidate there and party workers will work for candidates.
My supporters will choose party candidates .
“After he was rejected by the Cumbharjua ticket on Thursday, Siddhesh held a meeting with his supporters to discuss his actions in the future.
Supported by his supporters, he has expressed his willingness to rebel against the party, but a senior party official met Siddhesh and convinced him not to stop and compete as an independent candidate.
This is the second time BJP helped him a ticket to oppose the selection of assembly.
During the 2017 assembly selection, the former Minister of Main Manohar Parragar has triggered Madkkkaikar to BJP and has given him a ticket for the contest from Cumbharjua.
State President of BJP Sadanand Shet Tanavade said his first opinion was that Siddhesh had to get a ticket, but “my opinion could not be a party opinion”.
“I can only recommend the name, but the final decision was taken in Delhi,” he said.
Siddhesh and Madkkaikar’s wife is a strong competitor for tickets in Cumbharjua.
Reacting to Madkkkaikar’s statement that Siddhesh could stand up for elections but he would not get even 500 votes, Tanavade said that he had called Madkkkaikar and told him that he could not repeat such a statement.
Tanavade said that BJP wants to get Siddhesh into state politics.
The party held several rounds of discussion before the final list was stated to avoid angry members.
When Siddhesh was one of the competitors and his name was not searching for the list, he had been appointed as a secretary, said Tanavade.
