Panaji: Kiosk owners destroyed outside the Goa Medical College (GMC) have threatened to go on Dharna if their livelihood is not restored.
They met with St Cruz Mla Tony Fernandes to demand the space ration to restore the kiosk.
“All who have suffered from demolition come from economically poor classes.
We have asked MLA to solve our problems since the kiosks were reduced last month, but he did not produce results.
We will stop our agitation and vice versa gather in Azad Maidan and protest, “Dominic said, one of the kiosk owners.
They say that the legal process must be followed by a collector to restore the kiosk through the income department instead of delaying the process by involving Panchayat.
“If the authorities can take one day to destroy the kiosk that thinks they are illegal, it should not bring it more than a month to examine our FDA permit, tax records, etc., and told us,” said the owner of another kiosk.
Speaking to people, MLA showed them the planned four Lanings of Jalan Bambolim and said that he had discussed this issue with the Head of the Sawant Minister of Pramod.
“I have presented facts and numbers to CM and he has convinced his cooperation in this issue.
Ideally, there should be no problem with the erection of the kiosk on the road outside GMC.
This is a question about the livelihood of the community and there should be no compromise in this case For the sake of development, “he said.
