Porvorim: The current review is a survey number in the state identified as a private forest by the Thomas and AruJojo committee.
This process is expected to be completed in March 2022, said the minister’s chairman on Wednesday in a reply was submitted in the State Assembly.
The new committee is different from those under the representative of forest conservators.
“The review committee led by the Deputy Forest Conservator (work plan) has submitted its report to the government on June 20, 2019.
Then it was submitted before the National Green Tribunal on December 6, 2019.
The same was received by NGT in order on August 18, 2020,” said state government.
This review was conducted during the period from April 2018 to June 2019.
However, the review of the number of surveys identified temporarily by the Committee of Thomas and Arajjo were being carried out by a committee led by the head of the forest conservator, Sawant said.
The reply submitted in the Assembly also stated that the 16 sub-committees had been formed to conduct an examination on the ground and hear landowners.
“The 16 sub-committees have been formed by the state government for the basic verification of the number of surveys that are temporarily identified by the Committee of Thomas and Aruoo.
These committees are conducting surveys before their land owners / representatives with the right intimacy for local pancidayatas / government agencies , “CM said.
NGT has approved 46SQ KM private forest areas for Goa, in the order in February this year.
In July 2019, the Head of the Minister of Pramod Sawant said that there were still complaints about the inclusion of personal traits as private forests, although the Committee of Thomas and AruJojo was formed posting sawant panels, Karapurkar and Sharma, as well as the review committee to check the findings.
