Margao: Congress workers from Velim created a commotion at the party’s district office in Margao on Friday night and disrupted the program held to induce former Velim Mla Benjamin Silva into the fold.
The workers who protested nervously because they were not estimated by the leadership of the Congress before deciding to accommodate Silva, which they accused working against the party during the election of Zilla Panchayat held earlier this year.
Congress members of ZP from Velim, Julio Fernandes and Seva Dal Antonette officials are among those who are most vocal in targeting party leadership to trigger d’silva by “ignoring local party workers’ sentiments”.
Protests must be seen against the background of the appearance of Sarpanch Savio D’Silva Velim and President Congress South President Joe Dias as a party ticket provider of the Velim Constituency.
