PANAJI: The directorate of instruction (DoE) has delivered a proposal to the state authorities to start the new academic year 2021-22 for college pupils as scheduled by June 21, sources said.
Given that the persisting pandemic scenario, the DoE has suggested to run courses in the online mode only.
Nearly 2.8 lakh students registered from Class I to XII in country schools are anticipated to begin the new academic year from Monday.
The DoE is currently anticipating the nation authorities nod.
Although the nation curfew as a result of pandemic was expanded by the authorities surpassing June 21, instructing and non-teaching staffers have resumed duty in colleges.
With classes intended to be run in the online mode, the curfew is not likely to influence the instruction.
Additionally, the academic calendar year, which normally starts, at the very first week of June has been pushed DoE into June 21 by entering the calendar.
But, there are a few problems which have to be dealt with.
The DoE delivered its proposal to the state authorities, according to sources, to begin the academic season from June 21, prior to the statement by primary minister Pramod Sawant the nation curfew was extended until June 21.
Aside from the curfew, with all their Class X and XII people assessments, teachers of those higher courses in schools will stay engaged until mid-July when preparing the consequences of these pupils of their 2021 batch.
The outcomes are most likely to be tabulated in the college level by instructors based on pupils’ internal examinations, which will continue to keep the teachers occupied.
“These problems remain and it’s now for the authorities to have a telephone on reopening to the academic year,” said an official.
Sources said that there’ll not be a change in the procedure where online courses are conducted at the academic year also, at least at the initial half of this academic year.
“Because of pandemic, courses might need to be in online mode .
Courses will occur as they were conducted throughout the past year.
For primary school pupils, worksheets will be given out to be finished in your home, while for pupils of high schools and higher secondary colleges live courses will be conducted with platforms such as Google Meet,” stated a DoE official.
