Ponda: Chairperson of the Ponda City Council (PMC) Shantaram Kolvenkar, who proved BJP’s efforts to ignore it in vain three months ago, resigned from his office with personal reasons.
He said he had resigned to allow new people to rise to Pos Chair.
He was in the office for the past seven months.
The source says board members supported by MGP Pradeep rise will likely to be selected to the post once again.
He served as the first chairman of May 21, 2018 to August 29, 2019.
Kolvenkar, who is President Blok Ponda BJP, has won the head of the chairman on May 18 this year by beating Ritesh, No Ponda Mla Ravi rises.
Irked with this, on September 27, seven board members supported by BJP, including Deputy Chairperson of Virendra Dhavalikar and Ritesh Board members, Vishwanath Dalvi, Archana Dangui, Yaties Sawkar, William Aguiar and Anand rose, had moved movements without trust in Kolvenkar.
