PANAJI: Six more Covid-19 deaths reported for the last 24 hours pushed tolls to 3,061, while the calculation of active cases reached 2,278 with 231 fresh infections and 221 recovery.
5% infection rate while the recovery rate is at 96.80%.
A 54-year-old man from Navelim and a 58-year-old woman from Caranzalem died within 24 hours to be hospitalized.
The deceased had comorbidity, and even though they were not healthy for three to four days before being treated at the hospital, they underwent a Covid test only after they reached the hospital in critical condition.
Another death is that of the three people – 54 years old from Saligao, a 63-year-old child from Parra, a 76-year-old child from Cortalim – and a 68-year-old woman from Chopdem.
In the four cases, the direct cause of death is given as an acute respiratory pressure syndrome (ARDS).
The cortalim man remains under care for about a month and the only comorbidity is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
While nine people were sent home, 19 patients were hospitalized on Thursday.
However, the number of people in need of hospitalization has decreased with a decreased case.
Still 20 to 30 needs to be hospitalized every day.
There are fewer people in Covid care centers, 34 in South Goa and 10 in North Goa.
The count of the Sakhali Public Health Center in North Goa was reduced by 111 and the Urban Margao Health Center became 142.
