Panaji: Indian coast guards saved five fishermen who were in trouble in fishery trawls about 30 miles of sea from Goa Beach on Thursday.
The fishing boat, which took water in the engine room, was stabilized by the ICGS Sujeet crew and then pulled back to the Port of Mormugao for repairs.
Indian coast guards received a marabahaya message at 12:45 and ICGS Sujeet, who patrolled the area was asked to find and help Karnataka Fishing Trawler Madhava Mangala.
“When receiving a message, the ship immediately continued to save even though the coarse sea and strong winds due to low pressure survived from the cave.
The ship provides assistance by sending a technical support team to ship to get a machine room and carry a fishing boat to floating,” said an official guard Beach.
ICGS Sujeet pulls a fishing vessel through rough weather conditions and carries the ship to the Port of Mormugao, from where other ships, ICGS Amal, helps carry a shared fishing boat.
The IMD has warned storm storm accompanied by lightning for this week, and has suggested fishermen not to explore the sea.
