Panaji: With a cloudy sky and intermittent drizzle for most of the day and evening, Tuesday looks like a rainy day in June, as a low-pressure area above the east Central Arab Sea took a surplus to 142% in November wet this year.
“The low pressure area is the main system that contributes to the rainfall,” The Indian Meteorology Department (IMD), Panaji, said scientist Rahul M.
After raining for the first six days of this month, the last three days of rainfall, as a much early estimate by IMD, has taken seasonally to 70.9mm, compared to normal 29.3mm, leaving a high surplus.
The total post-monsoon touches 305.3mm, compared to normal 185.7mm – a surplus of overall 64% kerala and caves is usually not affected by northeast monsoun, but in the southern state, rain almost every day.
“This northeastern monsoon is spectacular in several ways because it has drowned Chennai.
But Kerala received a 244.4mm rainfall record (normal 103.8mm),” said a meteorologist and retired scientist NIO M R Ramesh Kumar.
“There is a possibility of a lightning storm with Aheavy’s rainfall in places isolated above Goa for the next 36 hours,” Rahul said.
