Goa: The power department to immediately introduce smart bills, said Minister of Power Nilesh Cabral

Porvorim: Minister of Power Nilesh Cabral on Friday said that smart electricity bills will be introduced in the country.
“Smart bills are being considered,” he said, adding that the cabinet members had seen the presentation.
Cabral also asked Cabinet members to provide advice on policy draft for electric vehicles, which have been uploaded on the website, before being sent to the Ministry of Finance.
According to the policy, the electric two wheels will be cheaper than gasoline / diesel.
Smart bills will be generated every month on certain days.
Replying to the demands, said Cabral during the publish pandemic of the electricity bill delayed when the meter reader must visit every home.
He clarifies that while the bill can be given after one month, it is produced every month.
Cabral convinced House members in increasing power infrastructure in the state.
At present, 35% of caves have underground cables and that after the existing work is complete 60% of the cable will be underground, the Minister of Strength said, adding that the balance will be taken next.
He also said that the state government will change 11,000 pumps for free five-star pumps starting from August 15.
Cabral said that it was decided to provide a subsidy of 90% to buy pumps in the area where there was no network connectivity.
Speaking of the environmental demands, Cabral said that the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) refused to prepare the draft plan of the coastal zone management plan which is why the National Center for Sustainable Coastal Management (NCSCM) was approached.
Minister PwD Deepak Pauskar said on Friday that the state faced water shortages every day up to 76 million liters per day (MLD) in all 12 talukas and 40 elections.
He said that the country’s water requirements were 600mld, but only 527mLd was treated.
To bridge the shortcomings, new water treatment plants will be arranged, he said.
Replying to request, Pauskar said that Rs 300 Crore was spent converting water pipes in the state.
