Panaji: Chairman of the Ministry of Pramod Sawant on Monday announced the arrangement of the Tribal Tribal Research Center and the Tribal Museum to document and preserve the culture and tradition of unique tribal communities in Goa.
Tribal Research Center will be established with the support of the union government.
“This project has been approved and will appear in Sanguem.
Such centers are needed to document, preserve, and promote the culture of the tribal community,” Sawant said while speaking on the functions of the World Tribe Day organized by the Cave Commission for SC / ST in Margao.
The research center will be inaugurated in the next two months, he added.
Sawant also announced the ethnic museum, which will be established in Farmagudi with the support of the central government.
“The museum will display and preserve the tradition and contribution of the tribal community,” he said, adding that it would be established on the land owned by the Ministry of Tourism which had been submitted.
Bhavan tribes will be built in Porvorim on land owned by Gomantak Gaud Maratha Samaj.
This will accommodate tribal departments, corporations and commissions for ST / SC which run from a rental place in the state capital.
The minister’s chairman also said that all the right forest cases would be quickly tracked.
Five members of the SC / ST Community-Kalidas Bhomkar of Carambolim, Velip Ratnakan from Canacona, Anil Krishna Malakar from Sattari, Satish S Korgaonkar from Verla, Bardez, and Sakharam Korgaonkar from Mandrem, Pernem, were given their functions for community contributions during the Covid-19 pandemic.
