PANAJI: The Ministry of India Meteorology (IMD), Panaji, has expected heavy rainfall to being in isolated places throughout the state on Sundays and light to moderate for three to four days, even as a total seasonal rainfall crawling past 100-inch.

The low pressure area is currently located outside the South Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh Beach while a offshore on average sea level from Karnataka beach to Kerala Beach also continues.

IMD, Panaji, recorded 31.7mm in the last 24 hours, which took total rainfall to 2,552.2mm (100.4 inches) – a total deficit of three percent for the current period.
While the average rainfall of 2,625.6mm (103.3 inches) is normal during this season, monsoon activity during last week in July and most of August has been weak.
Saturday 31.7mm is a 24-hour spell of the second terrace after 33.3mm recorded on August 13.
The only 30+ MM rainfall was 30.4mm on August 4, last month, a very wet spell 14 days had produced excessive rainfall from 1,047.3mm, triggering one of the worst floods in 40 years.
But the remaining 17 days only produced 233.5mm.
The toughest 24-hour mantra was 132.9m recorded on July 19.
During the last 24 hours until Saturday morning, Ponda recorded the highest rainfall of 68mm, Valpoi 56.2mm and quepem 52.6mm while other centers were recorded on a lower scale.
Fourth season ended on September 30.
