PANAJI: To provide further encouragement for research at the Institutes of Higher Education, the Directorate of Higher Education has introduced a new scheme that will enable institutions to form research seats.
Universities in the state will be able to invite reputation scientists to serve as chairs and will get government funds up to 75 lakh per seat for researchers or academics abroad.
The Institute must place the panel to make the selection designated to the chair.
Must have a representation of the Directorate of Higher Education in the Committee.
The proposal will then be forwarded to the state government to approve funds.

Funds will be released in two installments.
