Sawant also reviewed various infrastructure projects in the constituency of Vasco and Mormagao.
He told reporters, “this project will be one of the best in the state.
When we talk about Pernem and Canacona, along with Bypass Manohar Parragar Canacona, Varunapuri to Sada Highway will also be counted.” Sawant said the project began in October 2015 but The work has slowed because of the problem and this is being resolved.
The project is worth RS500 Crore and taken by the National Highway Authority (NHAI), Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) and the Public Works Department (PWD).
This project will help reduce traffic in the main vasco city since the road directly from Varunapuri to Sada will route vehicle traffic from the main city area directly through the highway.
Gammon India, Vice President, Anant Kadawal gave a briefing to the Minister of Chief Workers from the main parts under the project and congestion that influenced their settlement.
Sawant also reviewed various projects with the heads of various departments such as the Department of Water Resources (WRD), PWD, Electricity, Fisheries, etc.
He said, “Vasco does not have a problem of lack of water but there is a problem with the electricity department.
The instructions have been given and the work of the entry of the underground cable that is waiting in Baina will be completed.” Sawant said that Vasco Mla Carlos Almeida had identified a place for the construction of Mormadya Mormugao and One more school, and the work will begin on the plan.
Almeida said, “Many people have died in Vasco because of an accident.
This highway will make us very much-needed relief.
Varunapuri to Sada Highway is also the main dream project of Manohar Parragar.” He added that he had also discussed the blue flag certification for the beach Baina with facilities such as gardens, toilets, etc.
He added, “We did not oppose anyone.
We wanted Baina to be like Calangute and Baga.
We will harm the fishermen.” Sawant also said that many-awaited projects from the KTC bus stand will be tendered in September.
The project scope has increased and will be completed in three phases that include bus and administrative buildings.
Almeida said, “We need to work together, board members, MLA, and minister’s chairman if we want to work.
If not, it’s impossible.”
