VALPOI: Sattari residents have decided to continue their protests until the Government of Memo Bill Bhumiputra Adhikarini.
Residents from various villages in Sattari Taluka have begun to arrange meetings against bills and have promised to take part active in agitation, indicating that their land ownership issues have not been resolved for decades.
In a recent meeting held at Caranzol, the locals said that the bill passed recently by the state government was not the interest of Sattari and demanded that the bill be revoked immediately.
Harishchandra Gawas, President of Sattari Bhumiputra Sanghatana, said, “Agitation has been going on in various parts of Sattari over the past few years on the issue of land ownership.
However, both the previous government and the government have considered these problems.
At present, there is a commotion at Goa on Bhumiputra Adhikarini’s bill.
On the contrary, the government must provide a bill on the issue of land ownership.
“Prajal Sakhardande’s history lecturer said that it was very embarrassing that no government had resolved the problem of land ownership in Sattari Taluka since Goa’s exemption.
“If the government truly wants to maintain the interests of Goan people, the bill must be revoked and the new bill must be introduced in assembly to resolve the issue of land ownership in Goa,” he said.
Vishwesh Prabhu, Ganpat Zarmekar, Gawde and the others expressed their views at the meeting.
