POINGUINIM: Sanitary Pad Bank which will not only provide free pads to women but also educate them about health problems, inaugurated on Sunday in Cotigao.
A team has formed on a work page to guide village women to menstruation and distribute sanitation pads to them for free.
Apart from this, the health problem from people in the area will be checked on alternative days by specialist doctors.
Doctors from the area will also be involved in the project.
The test kit was handed over to Dr.
Shaba Gavkar for this project.
After inaugurating the bank, the representative of the speaker and Canacona Mla Isidore Fernandes, thanked Mukta Drishti Foundation, said that it was a big pride problem and others had to learn from it because it began from a very remote area like Cotigao.
President Mukta Drishti Foundation Kishor Sarsolkar said that the aim was to create a village model in Cotigao with respect to women’s sanitation.
Drishti Foundation has submitted an inspection kit around Rs 1 lakh for the job.
