Colva: Not affected by the stop-work notification issued by the Colva Panchayat office, personal telecommunications componition on Wednesday restarted the installation of cellular towers at Ward 4 using police protection.
A few weeks ago, villagers have stopped the tower erection, urging telecommunications company officials to produce documentation for the same thing.
Colva Sarpanch Johnson Coelho said that after the stop notification of work was released two weeks ago, the Pancantan office was equipped with a series of incomplete documents where the location of the tower was not mentioned.
On Wednesday, when the villagers gathered on the site again to stop the job, Colva the police responsible for Chavan said that they had received orders from the office of the deputy collector to provide protection for work.
The villagers are shown the order and are asked to dissolve.
The villagers, led by Coelho, then approached the deputy collector Jyoti Kumari, who asked them to get licensed licenses from PWD.
Coelho said the Pancrayat office was not aware of every permit because it had been processed through the one window system.
He said that the telecommunications tower subject would be discussed at a special Sabha gram meeting to be held on October 10 and an inspection was scheduled for October 11.
In accordance with GOA 2020 telecommunication infrastructure policy, Pancrayat permission is not required to install the cellular tower.
