MARGAO: Expressing concern over the great number of lifetimes of Goans dropped to Covid-19 through the next wave, South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha on Wednesday reported that the government might have prevented the catastrophic impact of this outbreak had it heeded the Congress’s guidance of some lockdown 15 days until it eventually went to it.
“The passing rate is currently decreasing.
However, it might have been considerably better if the lockdown was enforced 15 days before; a lot of people died by then.
When we had been requesting a lockdown, the principal minister did not open his eyes.
Officials declared lockdown, but the authorities did not,” Sardinha told reporters after chairing a meeting of the Road Safety Commission for South Goa district in the South Goa collectorate.
Sardinha reported that many suggestions came forth in the meeting by PWD and authorities, a few of which have been capital-intensive.
One of the significant proposals was that the building of a road overbridge in Comba at which a railroad underpass exists.
