Panaji: The income of GST Goa for August reached Rs 285 Crore, a 34% increase over the same period last year, but substantially less than the pre-pandemic level.
The GST collection is also 6% lower than the income collected in July, when Goa obtained Rs 303 Crore in GST revenue.
In 2019-20, the Mop-up GST Goa for August was Rs 325 Crore, showing that Goa’s income from GST was 12% lack of pre-pandemic levels.
Economic activities in the first three quarters 2020-21 are very affected due to national locking and the first wave of Covid-19.
Nationally, GST revenues for August 2021 30% higher at Rs 1,12,020 Crore rather than GST income in the same month last year.
Even compared to August’s revenue in 2019-20 from Rs 98,202 Crore, there was a growth of 14% in monthly GST revenue.
From RS 285 Crore GST collected in Goa, less than half will go to the state state, with an income center of more than 50% of the amount.
The total GST obtained by the state for the current financial year until July stood at Rs 1346.6 Crore.
Although the GST collection remains well below normal, with the easing of Covid-19 restrictions and a reduction in new cases, the GST collection for July and August 2021 has suggested that the economy recovered.
