Goa’s house at the power of 3/4 as a quarter of the MLAS who resigned

Panaji: Unprecedented resignation of a quarter of 40 MLA, to switch sides even before the parties said the candidate for assembly selection of 2022, reflects that power has shifted from political parties to representatives, new experts said, experts said.
In the past, it was common for MLA to join new political parties after tickets were rejected to them.
But this time, three MLAs Congress included their letters and joined BJP and TMC, four BJP Mlaas joined AAP, MGP, Congress, and some decided to compete as independent.
Two independent Mlaas resigned to join BJP, and one GFP MLA stopped to join BJP.
Most of MLA comes out of their parties considering their political future, and also fear of being rejected by tickets by their parties, which will cause them to get out of race.
High political aspirations have also forced some MLA to resign to joining other parties.
The former member of the Senior Congress and former Minister of Main Luizinho Faleiro has quit the party to join TMC.
He was rewarded with the chair of Rajya Sabha.
Likewise, former BJP Minister Michael Lobo came out of the cabinet and the party to join the Congress, so he could expand his base at Bardez Taluka, which had the second highest constituency after the Salcete.
Congress gave a gift to the lobo with a ticket to him and his wife delilah.
Political observer Cleofato Almeida Coutinho, responded to requests why leaders to switch loyalty at the end of their term without attracting serious consequences of voters or parties, said the problem with politics in Goa was that Satrap election levels.
Run a show.
They become bigger than the party, making parties irrelevant.
This is because of small constituencies, he said.
Coutinho said that the government was formed not on any program but only arithmetic.
People shift side only for power and money on behalf of the development of constituencies.
“If a large number of Hopper Party is defeated, there may be a deterrent effect,” he said.
“But if the majority is successful, the hopper will be brave.
The party’s high command becomes irrelevant, but the executive power of the United States is used to add numbers.” Former Director of IIAS, Shimla, Peter Ronald Desouza, has a different perspective.
“It’s interesting and giving Indian democracy ratification of Burkean representation, where representatives decide what is good for voters and once elected, especially if this happens repeatedly, becoming a manifestation of such voters’ interests,” he said.
“Goa moves in that direction.
Power has shifted from parties to representatives.” Burkean ratification means MLA is free to fight the selector’s mandate.
Edmund Burke, England MP, proposed this representation model of ‘Trustee’ this as a model of delegation, where representatives are expected to act according to voter expectations.
By confirming that it was a welcome step, Desouza, also a guest professor of DD Kosambi at the University of Goa, said all this was temporarily, defection from Congress to another, especially BJP, in the last 20 years.
It seems that a little left BJP because of loyalty or fear.
In the 2022 election, in Goa and upwards, the candidate has left BJP, it seems to have overcome their fears of the consequences of how the party will respond, and claim to be loyalty to its ideology.
Analyzing defection in Goa for the past 30 years, Desouza said that it could be understood at two levels – one, concerning changes in the legal status of parties before and after the election, and two, in the event that the significance of democratic representatives.
This is the second level where new arguments appear, he said.
