JAIPUR: Nearly 3 weeks following three girls of the identical family registered a case of rape against a self-styled’godman’, the country authorities detained Yogendra Mehta on Tuesday. Mehta (56) includes a sprawling ashram in the Jaipur-Ajmer highway. The principal complainant and among her sisters-in-law registered the FIR from Mehta on May 4, alleging he had raped them into his own ashram between 2005 and 2017. A day following the FIR was registered, another girl came forward and stated she was mistreated by Mehta, after which her title was inserted into the plaint. TNN”My husband was a regular visitor in the ashram since 1998. Mehta had one day asked my husband to come together with his whole family and that is the way I had been introduced in 2005. Then I began seeing the ashram frequently. Originally, everything was nice and that I used to stay in the ashram to get three-four times each six months. During one particular stay in 2005, I had been called from the aides of those accused to his chamber. After I had been there, I had been given some spiked beverage and mistreated. Mehta repeatedly chased me at the ashram until 2017,” she stated in her complaint, including that her sisters-in-law proved likewise manipulated. “Each time that I cried, Mehta explained it is a boon and threatened me with dire consequences if I told anybody about his sexual misconduct,” she explained, adding that she had been made to confide in her husband just when the’godman’ desired their 20-year-old daughter to remain in the ashram for a couple of days. Another complainant added from the FIR stated she also was mistreated by Mehta several times during exactly the identical period.
