Thiruvananthapuram: The castle police on Saturday captured Godman’s fraud on charges of sexual exploitation and extortion of a woman who approached her for special prayers.
The police identified the defendant as Dileep, 37, living in MSK Nagar near the fort.
The police said the complainant was a woman who lived in Kazhakootam.
The defendant used to do a special Poojas at home for believers, claiming that he had a blessing from a god called ‘Manchramoorthy’.
The complainant heard about his magical achievement which he thought was able and approached him to seek help to remove the obstacles that delayed his marriage.
He stated in his complaint that he paid it through ‘prasadam’ mixed with sleeping pills and clicking on his naked picture in the Pooja room.
Then, he squeezed it using the photos and sexually exploited him.
He also squeezed gold ornaments weighing 30 sovereign and money.
He even physically harassed him when he got engaged to another man.
The defendant was arrested by a team led by Fort Station House Officer Inspector J Rakesh.
He was produced in front of the court and returned in Jadicial custody.
