Coimbatore: Vadavalli Police have arrested seven people to rob a jewelry supplier 1.8kg gold jewelry and 7.5 lakh Rs on October 30.
The victim, a Shanmugam, 62, Gandhi Nagar in Sathyamangalam, has visited the distinctive characteristics unit in Coimbatore City in his bicycle.
After visiting the unit, he was on his way to his son’s house in Vadavalli at night, when the two men who were transmitted by motorbikes stopped him on Jalan Vadavalli-Thondamuthur and seized him.
Vadavalli police formed a special team and launched an investigation using CCTV footage.
“We found that Dinesh Rawal, 34, Ranjith Singh, 30, Pawar Singh, 27, VenkataChalam, 31 and Bhavani Singh, 23, Hallmark Unit employees were behind robbery.
They have roamed Abdul Hakkim, 46, and Ashraf Ali, 44, to carry out robbery, “said a police officer.
