Letter: Thieves are confusing with valuables worth almost Rs 10 lakh by breaking into artisan diamond houses living in Mahidharpura, Diamond Trade Center, in the city.
Sohil Astawala, 43, who lives in Rati Park’s apartment in Lal Darwaja Locality, told the police that stolen valuables were savings for the rest of his life.
During the past month, Astawala’s wife and two children lived with her old mother-in-laws to take care of her.
Astawala’s parents lived with her brother on the top floor of the same building.
On Wednesday morning, Astawala went to his job around 7am and returned around 5pm.
When his mother Ramila went to the house to finish housework, he found the main door lock broken.
He immediately told family members and told the police.
The thieves have taken gold and silver jewelry worth Rs 9.46 lakh from the closet.
The police are called the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to collect fingerprints from the place.
