Thiruvananthapuram: After almost 16 months of judicial guards, Swapna Suresh, the prime was accused of controversial cases of alleged gold smuggling through diplomatic luggage, released from prison with a guarantee.
He left the prison of women and prison houses at Atakkulangara in the city on Saturday morning after his mother, Prabha, appeared and produced a relevant document from the guarantee before the prison supervisor.
The High Court of the State has provided guarantees to Swapna Suresh and seven others accused of cases registered by Nia on Tuesday.
He executed his guarantee bond, which consisted of two personal guarantees and RS 25 lakh solvent services worth, before the Nia Court in Ernakulam on Friday.
His mother and uncle are a personal suffix for his guarantee.

Swapna, which is a former UAE consulate employee here was arrested on July 11, 2020, by Nia after a habit of intercepting diplomatic consignments aimed at the UAE Consulate Office in Thiruvananthapuram and confiscated 30 kilograms of gold.
Nia has ordered Suresh Swapna and was accused of another under the UPA.
While giving a guarantee, the High Court observed that the prime facie they did not find that the defendant committed terrorist acts.
