Trichy: Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) from the Customs Department has recovered 850g gold ingots worth 42 lakh Rs from flights arriving at Trichy International Airport from Dubai here on Saturday.
According to customs officials, the authorities conducted a search on flights after being glared at Trichy International Airport, based on information.
During their search, they found two packages left with materials such as paste hidden under the plane side wall, side port.
They restored them from the flight (6E 1998) which came from Dubai on Saturday.
In extraction, gold ingots from 24K purity were confiscated under the 1962 Customs Law.
Further investigation, officials said.
