Jaipur: The Customs Department at City Aiport seized nearly 500gm of gold worth around Rs 25 Lakh from a passenger who landed from Sharjah in early Saturday.
“Customs officials at Jaipur Airport intercepted one passenger who came from Air Arabia from Sharjah at 3:20 a.m.

Because of being asked, passengers denied carrying these items and could not provide a satisfying explanation.
By dismantling the trimmer, four fine golden gold biscuits (purity 99.99%) were filled with black carbon plastic sheets from multi-layer Found.
One small gold biscuit of 99.99% purity was found separately packed in black carbon plastic sheets, “said a customs official.
Gold smuggled collectively with a weight of 491 grams worth RS 24.32.905 recovered which had been confiscated under the provisions of the Customs Law, 1962.
Further investigation was ongoing.
Less than a week ago, customs officials intercepted a passenger who arrived with Arab air flights from Sharjah and seized nearly 350 grams of gold.
The Customs Department has confiscated more than 10kg smuggle gold at the city airport and registered more than a dozen cases between April and December.
Officials claim that most operators are working class people from Shekhawati belts in Rajasthan.
Last year, the department grabbed more than 39kg of gold including the main haul 32kg gold confiscated from 14 passengers traveling from the UAE.
