Gold worth Rs 6 lakh seized at Jaipur Airport

Jaipur: The Customs Department at the City Airport won around 142 grams of gold biscuits worth around RS 6 lakh from a passenger who landed from Muscat on Wednesday.
“The customs officer at Jaipur International Airport intercepted one passenger, who arrived from the Muscat and after a thorough examination of his luggage, two collective gold biscuits weighing 141,550GM (116,550 + 25,000) worth Rs.6,83,686 were confiscated.
The gold was hidden In an emergency lights battery after wrapping it with carbon paper to escape detection with an X-ray machine.

A week ago, customs officials have confiscated 450GM gold from a passenger who landed from Dubai.
Before this customs had confiscated 350 grams of gold in July from a passenger who had landed from Dubai.
