Chennai: More than 2 kg of gold worth 90.17 lakh was confiscated and an air passenger who arrived here from Abu Dhabi on Sunday was arrested in this connection, the customs authorities said.
Acting on the input that precious metals were smuggled into India, detectives intercepted passengers in the morning and seize gold hidden in the trunk.
He was arrested and metal seized based on Customs Law, 1962.
