Amritsar: Allegations of the Golden Temple were accused of entering Sanctum Sanctorum 15 times in the last four days, including eight times on the day of condemnation on December 18.
Sitting Chief and Deputy Commissioner of Parminder Bhandal said on Friday that the unknown young man entered a holy place twice and once on December 16 and 15.
CCTV recordings December 17 showed that the defendant stood in the worshiper for almost an hour before entering Sanctum Sanctorum.
After taking ‘Prasad’ when he came out, he returned to the queue for Sanctum Sanctorum.
“He did this eight times on December 18 but he didn’t talk to anyone,” said Bandhal.
The night before, he slept on a mat at Dharam Singh Market near the Golden Temple, where the owner of the guest house and a guard talked to him but he did not answer.
“Even Granthis inside Sanctum Sanctorum said that after blasphemy, he just cried and said nothing,” the officer added.
Someone who sleeps on a dog mat, repeatedly enters the Sanctum Sanctorum after waiting for almost an hour, can mentally ill or bad intentions, DCP shows.
“But we are still investigating and observing every corner,” he said, adding that no one advanced to identify young people.
When asked whether the police would take action against those who beat him to death, Bhandal answered, “We cannot say anything for now.
We are still waiting for the Viscera report to ensure the exact cause of death.”
