Coimbatore: The City Crime (CCB) branch captured private bank assessors on Friday to ensure imitation gold jewelry for 31.82 lakh.
The person arrested was identified as V Jaisankar, 48, a native of Pappireddipatti in the Dharmapuri District, which worked for DBS Bank (formerly Lakshmi Vilas Bank) in Coimbatore City.
“He has approached 14 bank customers in October 2020, seeking their help to promise more than 1 kg of gold.
He told them that he could not promise gold when he worked for the bank.
He gave them imitation gold jewelry, which they promised at the bank .
He, became an assessor, passed a loan and bagged 31.82 lakh, “said a police officer.
Abuse is revealed when bank management conducts audits.
Meanwhile Jaishankar escaped.
Bank manager Rajesh filed a complaint with the CCB police, who registered the case and arrested Jaisanhar from Erumapalayam in Salem Regency.
He was returned in the custody of the judiciary.
