Lucknow: The Central Investigation Bureau conducted a search in 38 locations above and each in Rajasthan and West Bengal in connection with RS 1,513 Crore Gomti Riverfront Park Scam – the leading project from the Sawaji Party government before.
The search starts on Sunday night and is underway in several locations until the late Monday.
The tension suddenly appeared after the CBI filed a new firm in the case on July 2 naming 16 government officials and 173 companies and private entities as defendants.
The sources in the CBI said FIR was submitted after the revelation that appeared while investigating the original FIR in the scam submitted in 2017 where only eight engineers were considered by the defendant.
Searches are made in Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Gorakhpur, Agra, and Moradabad.
The CBI team also searched for each property in the Alwar district in Rajasthan and Kolkata.
The premise sought include the property of two main engineers, four supervisory engineers, an executive engineer, assistant engineer posted with the irrigation department between 2015 and 2017 and has been linked to the implementation of the project.
Place of private entities related to fraud is also sought.
FI 2 July, based on which searches are carried out, related to work related to the Riverfront Gomti park executed between 2015 and March 2017 of Rs 407 Crore.
These include repairing and painting bridges, mud removal, building amphitheater, installation of swings for children, landscaping and horticultural work from the Nishatgaj bridge to the good Dham, audio system, Food Plaza on the Gomti route, jogging and jogging paths.
“The probe reveals that the notification that invites the tender (NIT) for this work is not published in the national newspaper as referred to and false letters allegedly sent to the Information Department instead,” CBI said in FIR.
The FIR quoted an investigation to state that the tender was given to the company only in letters while the owner of these companies had denied signing or submitting any documents related to the project.
It has also been disclosed that the committee is based on allocating work related to the project floating fake tenders and giving contracts to skin companies listed in the name of their relatives or family members.
FIR also mentions a French company, water show, which is given a cheat contract.
“Without permission because the government, the engineers accused of misusing their official position and contracts the French company based on quotes.
Even though the engineers accused, in official records, have shown that the floating tender that cannot be strengthened,” said FIR.
The named engineers in Fir are: Shiv Mangal Yadav, Jeevan Ram Yadav, Akhil Raman, Surendra Kumar Pal, Kamleshwar Singh, Roop Singh Yadav, then Interintending Engineer Shriprakash, then Assistant Jagpal Engineer Singh, Sunderlal, then the main assistant Om Verma, Kazim Ali , Siddh Narayan Sharma, then Chief Engineers Rajkumar Yadav and Manoj Yadav, then Assistant Junior, Sushil Kumar Yadav then assistant engineers and Arvind Singh Yadav then executive engineers.
All have been ordered under accusations of dishonesty, prevention of corruption, forgery for cheating purposes, valuable forgery of security, cheating or dishonestly using original documents and criminal conspiracy.
The source said the first FIR was registered with eight engineers on November 30, 2017, where the beauty works of the Gomti River project for RS 1.031 Crore song were only taken by the CBI and where the Chargesheet had also been submitted against the former.
Executive Engineer Roop Singh Yadav, Senior Assistant Raj Kumar Yadav, two Directors of private companies related to the fraud of the Riverfront Gomti development project.
Presented accused of providing work to intercept the luggage channel to a private company that did not meet the terms and the tender date was twice expanded to accommodate the company, while the investigation was still delayed in this case.
