Microsoft recently has good news for PC owners with older CPUs.
It is said that it won’t block users to install Windows 11 on a PC with a longer CPU, “as long as you download and install ISO files manually themselves”.
Now it looks like this good news comes with a big catch.
When companies reported adding great technical to this.
According to a report on the verge, the software giant is now threatening to hold Windows updates from a copy of Windows 11 if the user takes this route.
This update can also include security patches.
Microsoft has reportedly said that a non-supported PC will not be entitled to receive Windows updates, and even security updates and drivers may be detained.
The next report added that Microsoft refused to explain further.
What it means for the old PCSTHIS users means that if users upgrade pcs longer to Windows 11 manually use the ISO file route, they can lose access to future security updates released by the company.
The security risk that comes with this can be imagined given the time we live where the Lakh PC is hacked every day globally.
This also means that these users must return to the days of downloading drivers updates manually for all their hardware that might not be an easy task.
What iso files ISO ISO (also called ISO image) is a file that contains copies of identical data found on the optical disk, such as a CD or DVD.
They are used to back up optical discs, or to distribute large file sets intended to be burned into optical discs.
Over the years, Microsoft and other Tech Giants have moved to over-the-air updates for OS updates.
OTA renewal can be downloaded from the internet manually or can be entered into automatic mode.
Microsoft makes a slight change in system requirements for Windows 11Microsoft also has a system requirements that are slightly updated for Windows 11 upgrades.
Windows 11 will now officially support the Intel Core X-Series, Xeon W-Series, and Intel Core 7820HQ.
The company announced the requirements of Windows 11 minimum hardware in June as only the 8th generation of Intel and outside the CPU was officially supported.
“We have concluded that compatible 64-bit processors are selected, 4GB of memory, 64GB storage, UEFI Secure Boot, graphics requirements and TPM 2.0 are the right minimum system requirements to meet our principles,” Microsoft said in a statement.
“We did identify a set of PC models that fulfill the principles when running on the Intel 7 Gen processor that we initially included in our minimum system requirements,” the statement added.
