Washington: Alphabet Inc.
Google asked the judge on Friday to stop most of the antimonopolic lawsuit filed by Texas and other countries that accused the search giant to misuse the dominance of online advertising markets.
Google said in submitting its court that countries failed to show that it illegally worked with Facebook, now Meta, to fight “header offering,” technology developed by publishers to produce more money from advertisements placed on their website.
Facebook has not been mentioned as a defendant in a lawsuit.
Countries also accuse Google using at least three programs to manipulate advertising auctions to force advertisers and publishers to use Google tools.
Google replies that countries have a collection of complaints “but there is no evidence of error.
In some accusations, Google argues further that countries are waiting too long to file their lawsuit.
“They criticized Google because they did not design their products more according to their rivals and to make improvements to the products that left their competitors too far behind.
They saw the ‘solution’ to Google’s success as holding Google again, rather than letting market troops.
Urging his competitors in the future, “said the company in his archiving.
Google requested four of the six counts to be dismissed with prejudice, which means that it cannot be brought back to the same court.
The Texas lawsuit has two other claims based on state law and made against Google who lived in September.
The search giant did not ask them to be dismissed on Friday but had the right to do it in the future.
The lawsuit is one part of the long list of antitrust investigations and federal litigation and states on large technology platforms.
