New Delhi: Google has dedicated the veranda with Doodle to Sarla Thukral, the first woman of India to drive an airplane, on the opportunity for his 107th birthday.
Doodle illustrated by Guest Artist Vrinda Zaveri Sarla Thukral was born in Delhi today in 1914 and then moved to Lahore on today Pakistan.
Inspired by her husband who was Airmail pilot from a family of leaflets, Sarla began to practice to follow in their footsteps.
At the age of 21, dressed in traditional sari, he stepped into a small double winged cockpit for his first solo flight.

According to Google Blog, as Lahore Flying Club students, Thukral completed 1,000 hour flight time to get a license, the other first for Indian women.
