Google has reportedly made several changes to the backup feature in the photo application.
Change features related to backup videos in the application.
AndroidCentral has reported that search engine giants have removed options to exclude videos when taking backup via cellular connections.
The company has not made an official announcement on changes.
This feature previously allowed users to prevent Google’s photos from backing up videos on cellular internet connections.
This means there is now no way for users to avoid video backup and prevent it from consuming many daily data quota available as part of the plan.
Most today’s connections offer unlimited data, but there are certain daily data limits such as 1.5GB or 2GB, the post reduced speed.
Before this, the photo application offers separate options to back up photos and videos and also have the option to back up the video only when Wi-Fi is connected.
After recent changes, new features have been added which allows users to set the daily reserve limit for cellular networks, but not for videos and photos separately.
This feature is reported to update the system side and may reflect all in the coming days.
However, this change will definitely increase the cost of backing up photos and videos in Google photos especially when there is no Wi-Fi connectivity available.
