New Delhi: Google said on Thursday that he has transferred the Delhi High Court against leaking the secret report of the Antitrust CCI’s body related to the investigation into technology giants.
Google, in a statement, said this aims to prevent the disclosure of a broader secret findings by the arm of the Investigation of the Indian Competition Commission (CCI).
The technology giant noted that he had “not received or reviewed this confidential report”.
“Google submitted a writing petition in Delhi HC which seek compensation in this case, specifically protested violations of trust that damaged Google’s ability to defend themselves and endanger Google and its partners,” he added.
Last week, the report has stated that the CCI investigation arm, the Director General (DG), has found that Google indulges itself in unfair business practices in relation to Android.
After Prima-Facie found alleged violations of competition norms, CCI – in early 2019 – had ordered a detailed probe against Google in this case.
“We are very worried that the Director General report, which contains our confidential information in a sustainable case, leaked to the media in cci custody.” Protecting confidential information is very fundamental for government investigations, and we pursue our legal rights.
To seek repetition and prevent disclosures that violate further law, “Google spokesman said in the statement.
Spokespersons added that the company worked completely and maintain confidentiality throughout the investigation process.” …
we hope and expect the same level of confidentiality.
The institution we did, “said the spokesman.
The company stated that the findings of DG” did not reflect the final decision of CCI “and the submission of investigative reports was a temporary procedural step.” Google hasn’t had the opportunity to do it, review the findings, let alone submit their defenses about any accusation, “said the statement.
