If you are an Android application developer with a registered application on the Google Play Store that has not been updated in a few moments, then the internet search giant has bad news for you.
The company has announced that it will close an account that is not active if the account is not active or left after one year.
“This includes an account where the developer never uploads the application or accesses Google Play Console in a year,” Google said.
The company determines that it will not turn off accounts with applications that have more than 1000 installations or have in-app purchases in the last 90 days.
This new policy will take effect on September 1, 2021.
Google believes that “Play remains a safer ecosystem when developers actively maintain their application.” What happens if your developer account is turned off if your developer account is closed, you must create a new one but the company will not let you reactivate the account, application, or old data.
What else has changed on the Google Play Store other than this, Google also makes it easier to get out of personalized ads.
When the user deletes an Android ad ID on a newer device, an ad ID will be deleted and replaced with a zero series.
This will take effect from October 4, 2021.
The Play Store also updates ‘inappropriate content policies’ with the aim of upholding new restrictions on “sexual content, specifically prohibiting compensated sexual relations (i.e., dating sugar).” It comes into force starting September 1, 2021.
Google also adds new restrictions in the ‘family policy requirements’ on identifiers used in applications that target children.
“If an application is mainly directed to children, it cannot send identifiers such as advertising IDs.
If the application audience is children and adults, it is necessary to avoid transmitting this identifier for children,” Google said.
The developer needs to comply with September 1 2021 except for changes to ID.
For ID ID, the developer has until January 15, 2022 to comply with.
