Google already has extensive search options for drives.
But, we think it’s not good enough.
The company has a new search feature in mind to make a better search and help people easily find the right file on Google Drive.
Verge’s report suggests that the company have begun to prepare to test a new search filter called ‘Search Filter Chips’.
The new search chip search filter will add a series of new options at the top of the Google Drive interface to give user options to narrow the search by file type, the last modification date, users related to certain files.
As mentioned, Google Drives already have search filtres that provide option users to determine their search by word, date, time, contact and more.
However, they are hidden in the search bar and are needed.
The new filter chip is easier available and can be accessed for users and offers wider search filter options.
Those who were unconscious, similar search filter chips were added to Gmail last year and we hoped to see similar implementations on Google Drive too.
Meanwhile, if you plan to try this new search filter chip, Google asks users to fill out the registration form (here) Verge has also reported that the feature will ultimately be launched to Google Workspace users including G Suite Basic User and Business.
