New Delhi: Google on Wednesday said users will be able to get more information about the availability and appointments for vaccine meetings for more than 13,000 locations in the country in three products – search, map and assistant – starting this week.
This information is powered by real-time data from Cowin API, and includes details such as the availability of the appointment slot in each center, vaccines, and doses offered (dose 1 or dose 2), price (paid or free), and link to the website Cowin for reservations, said a statement.
Information will automatically appear when users are looking for a vaccine center near them, or in certain areas – in all Google search, maps and Google Assistants, it is added.
In addition to English, users can also search in eight Indians including Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Gujarati, and Marathi.
Google said it would continue to partner carefully with the Cowin team to expand this function for all vaccination centers throughout India.
In March this year, Google began to show information about the Covid-19 vaccination center, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and family welfare.
“When people continue to look for information related to the pandemic to manage their lives around it, we remain committed to finding and sharing official and timely information on our entire platform,” said Hema Budarju, Google search director, with 1.33 crore covid- 19 Vaccine doses are given on Tuesday, the highest in one day, the cumulative dose given in the country under vaccination drive has exceeded 65.41 crore, according to the UNI Ministry of Health data.
