Google automatically enrolled users to use a 2-step verification feature (2SV) starting November 9.
The company announced plans to allow this security measure for millions of users last month.
The company claims that 2SV is one of the most reliable ways to prevent unauthorized access to accounts and networks.
“At the end of 2021, we plan to register 150 million Google users in 2SV and need 2 million YouTube makers to turn it on.” said the company in a blog post last month.
If you have not activated a 2-step verification process on your account, you will receive an email or notification about 7 days before the company allows security features for you.
At present, you can turn off 2SVs after turning on automatically, but entering just by the password makes your account much safer.
What is 2 step verification with 2-step verification (also known as two factor authentication), you add extra security layers to your account if your password is stolen.
After you set 2SV, you will enter your account in two steps using your password and phone.
After you enter your password as usual, you also have to enter the code that will be sent to your phone via text, voice call or cellular application.
How to Turn 2 Step Verification To activate 2SV You must open a Google Account> In the navigation panel, select Security> Under ‘Enter Google,’ Choose verify 2 steps and then start.
After that, follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
In addition, the company also launched features in Google applications that allow you to access all passwords that you save on Google Password Manager directly from the Google App menu.
