Patna: The famous Munna Mishra criminal, sought after by Police Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in several criminal cases, was arrested by the AK-47 assault rifle and ammunition in Pakahan under the Kateya police station in the Gopalganj district on Friday.
Munna brought RS50,000 prize on his head.
He has avoided arrest since 2015.
The village shares the border with Deoria District (above).
Munna, also known as Dilip Mishra, Manoj Mishra and Eknayan Mishra, came to Gopalganj from the top of the bicycle when the Special Task Force (STF) and the Gopalganj police team arrested him.
Source STF said Mishra was a difficult catch because she didn’t use any phone to avoid supervision.
They said that Gopalganj SP Anand Kumar said so far could track 37 criminal cases of vile nature against Munna, most of them murder and extortion, registered in various police stations in Gopalganj.
SP said at least 14 criminal cases were registered between January 26, 2017 and May 24 this year.
He was declared Abson by the court in many cases.
“In addition to Gopalganj, he was also active in Siwan and Deoria (above).
We collected details of the police from these two districts.
We expect the number of criminal cases registered against Munna exceeding 50 details of it from two other districts available to us,” Kumar said, “said Kumar,” said Kumar Adding Munna continued to get out of the police too.
SP said he had killed the main witness of the murder case on September 6 last year and then a trader for his rejection to extort on May 24 this year.
Both cases are registered in Kateya police condition.
“He has used the same AK-47 in both murder.
Munna has shared the details from where he has bought automatic weapons.
But we cannot reveal it at this time,” Kumar said.
SP Kumar said Munna was used to operate in a different way and never did a call to anyone.
“He will immediately reach the residence of the contractor to get a passing tender or entrepreneur for extortion.
He used to give them two weeks for payment.
One additional opportunity was given after failing to pay in that period.
At the failure to pay, he used to kill them,” he said.
Kumar said Munna was active in the world of evil since 1998.
Kumar said he was first killed someone on April 12, 1998 under the Katea Police Station area.
“He was in prison for at least five years and had come out on a guarantee in 2015 to be active again,” SP said.
“At least seven members of Gang Munna have been arrested and three more have not been arrested,” he added.
