BHUBANESWAR: Former minister and Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahy walked out of Jharpada jail on Saturday, a day after the Orissa high court granted him bail in the last of the six cases lodged against him in different police stations.
Panigragy was arrested by the Crime Branch of Odisha Police in connection with an alleged job scam on December 3, last year.
He was since lodged at Jharpada jail.
Subsequently, six cases were registered against the Gopalpur MLA.
Prior to his arrest, the Gopalpur MLA had been expelled from the BJD for alleged anti-people activities.
Besides the Crime Branch case, Golanthara police station in Ganjam had registered four cases against him while he was booked in another case at Baidyanathpur police station in Berhampur on the basis of FIRs lodged by various people.
The three-time MLA did not make any statement to the media as the high court, among other bail conditions, had cautioned Panigrahy from giving interviews and public statements in connection with the cases against him or other co-accused.
