Gorewada Park is closed until August 31 to clear the bushes

Nagpur: Stung by a series of complaints from tourists about rare appearances in Balasaheb Thackeray Gorewada International Zoological Park because of the growth of vegetation, the corporation of Maharashtra forest development (FDCM) has decided to close the park for five days to clean the bushes.
It’s a weekend, tourists will not be able to visit the park which will remain closed from 27-31 August.
Most visitors come to see tigers and leopards in an open place but the appearance is rare for the last 15-20 days.
“Last week, I visited the garden with my family, but we were disappointed because there were no animals that were seen because of the bushes,” said Manoj Sawkar from Wadi.Divisional Manager Pramod Panchbhai said that there was a big bush Rantol, and also grass tall to 5 feet which seizes tiger and leopard sightings.
“There are several complaints from visitors.
Therefore, we decided to clean up vegetation,” he said.
Indian safari is spread at 115 hectares.
It is divided into four segments, as a whole includes a 12 km route.
Starting with Leopard Safari and ends with Safari Tigers.
There are seven leopards (2 men and 5 women), two tigers (Lee and Rajkumar), six sloths bears, 14 nilgais, and four chals.Panchbhai said that every day more than 400 tourists visiting the park, generating more than RS1 income Lakh.
On weekends the number of visitors is almost multiply.
