Patna: Special armed police officer Bihar (BSAP) has been stabbed to death in the Gopalganj district.
His body was found early Wednesday morning near the famous doll temple, where he was deployed.
The deceased, Arjun Dayal aka Arjun Thapa, 38, uniformed.
He was a native of Chitwan in Nepal and served in Elite Gorkha Vahini (Battalion 1) from the Bihar Esptama Military Police (BMP), which is now known as BSAP.
This battalion is only deployed on special tasks such as CM operations and anti-Maoist operations.
A company from the battalion was deployed at Gopalganj.
The police suspected that the murder was the fall of its financial dispute with several Gopalganj residents.
“He might be called out of the temple location and pierced to death,” said a police source.
The DSP Muttafique Battalion Ahmed, who rushed to Gopalganj from Patna, said that Dayal was deployed there since March this year.
He said the Dayal family in Nepal had been told.
“Nothing can come because the border is sealed because of Covid-19 pandemic.
We put an effort to send the body to the family on the border from Raxaul,” he added.
“All companies, including parts that guard the temple, are scheduled to move to Bagaha on Wednesday morning,” he said.
The Thave Sho Kiran Shankar police station said that Dayal was missing around midnight.
“He was in charge of keeping a temple without weapons starting at 10pm to midnight.
His colleagues began to look for him during a change of shift,” he said.
Sho says they live in a temple place to keep all the time in two hours shifting.
The villagers saw the Dayal body on the road to Chetitola Village.
“The place is about 500 meters from the temple.
The cellphone or his wallet does not recover from the body,” he said.
Shankar said there was one piercing wound on his neck and at least three behind the head.
“There is no sharp-eyed weapon found from that place,” he said.
Sho said postmortem was carried out before sending the body to the police line to pay for the last respect.
No one was captured.
