New Delhi: The center on Friday blocked 35 YouTube channels from Pakistan.
This order is continued based on intelligence input received by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, said Vikram Sahay, Secretary with the Ministry.
Apart from 35 YouTube channels, 2 Twitter accounts, 2 Instagram accounts, 2 websites and Facebook accounts have also been blocked.
The general factor among all of these accounts is that they operate from Pakistan and spread false anti-Indian news and other content, the joint secretary said.
YouTube channels have a 1.20 crore customer base and 130 crore views, said Apurva Chandra, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Previously also 20 YouTube channels from Pakistan had been blocked, in December 2021.
Intelligence agents seek to find out this channel funding source, Chandra added.
