Government ‘call’ infoss CEO after portal tax outage

New Delhi: The day after the income tax portal becomes “not available”, the Ministry of Finance on Sunday says it has “called” Infosus CEO Salil Parekh on Monday to explain why the mistake has not been repaired even two and half a month the platform was launched.
Despite the “emergency maintenance” of the site completed on Sunday night, and it will live again, closure has caused a large shame.
On Saturday, Infosys had tweeted about “planned maintenance”, even though the tax department remained silent about it until around 2pm on Sunday, when it tweeted about Infoss CEO was “called”.
During this time, users have found a message, saying “Portal will go through maintenance”.
Last week, Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman said the Tarun Bajaj income secretary regularly monitored the problem and disruption would be removed immediately.
Government officials have asked Parekh to meet them again on Monday.
This is the second time the government is publicly named Infosys in this case.
Two months ago, the Kuningan company conducted a consultation with FM and other stakeholders after he marked concern on social media, hours after the launch of June 7.
The week’s tweet refers to the impatience of the government for the quality of services offered by Infosys, with GST networks and MCA-21 (for corporate submission and databases) into other tasks where the role of the Indian technology giant is under the lens.
While the government has repeatedly blamed IT vendors for problems with a new income tax portal, it does not offer a response to how the wrong system is allowed to be aired by officials who handle high projects.
Some of their colleagues and former tax officials have suggested that tests that are quite not done before the system is launched.
A source said the portal was ready to be launched last year, but the launch was planned to be conducted in a phase, the decision was changed later.
The questionnaire sent to the Tax Center Council directly on Sundays has not been answered, while Bajaj does not respond to text messages.
In the past too, the tax authority had refused to offer an explanation of how the department had failed to see a lot of interference on the platform.
The problem with the portal has pushed the tax department to offer several concessions.
In addition, officials have blamed obstacles to a massive slowdown in a tax refund.
Between April and August 16, refunds added to RS 49,696 Crore against nearly 96,000 crore Rs between April and August 25 last year.
The amount of refund added to more than 25.5 lakhs until August 25, 2020, has dropped to 22.7 lakh so far this year.
Also, repeated disturbances have caused demands to postpone archiving deadlines other than seeking other relaxation.
Although some experts recommend returning to the previous system until the problem on the new portal is sorted, Sitharaman has ruled out the possibility.
“While some problems have been resolved, new problems continue to appear,” said the leading CA.
“The new e-filing portal is expected to replace the existing e-filing portal.
It is seen to create a strong technology backbone by activating (a) a number of new functionality to taxpayers, including increasing appearance, nuances, and use of use.
We regret it says that After the end of more than two months, the portal still has not functioned and suffered several serious problems, “said the people of Bombay Chartered Accountants said in a letter to FM on August 11.
